Extreme heavy snow hit Fukui Prefecture(福井県)

According to whether news, Fukui city(福井市) was covered with 117 centimeters of snow, which is about three times as much snow as average record.
Such heavy snow paralized the traffic.


Yesterday's midnight, snow prevented some large vehicles from going up steep hills between Tsuruga IC(敦賀IC) and Imajo IC(今庄IC) on Hokuriku Expwy(北陸道).
Another large vehicles were slipped and stalled to result in that following cars were forced to stop on National Route 8.


Railways are also paralyzed.
7 Limited express trains were prevented from going ahead between stations on Hokuriku Main Line(北陸本線). 1700 passengers were forced to spend a night in the trains.
Today,all the trains between
Naoetsu(直江津) and Fukui(福井) on Hokuriku Main Line
Higashi-Maizuru(東舞鶴) and Tsuruga on Obama Line(小浜線)
weren't running until 18:00.
