travel diary on April 14, 2013

Before begining the travel, I dropped in at my university to check my experiment is safely undergoing. That's because I reached Osaka station lately, where I promised to meet my friend.
Today's travel starts with the train below.

Tanbaji rapid service

This train was for Sasayamaguchi, where the train bound for Fukuchiyama was available.
In addition to it, Sasayamaguchi is the terminus of the area where ICOCA cards(IC cards) are accepted. But a couple standing next to us seem to board the train with ICOCA card. I don't know how they dealt the problem.

We arrived at Fukuchiyama. And, this was the best place to have lunch, because more than 20 mins were left before departure of the next train. We bought lunch packs and ate them on bench. Then, 2 men and 1 woman came into our sights. My friend said "I found the letters 'University of Tokyo' on their clothes."
We wonder why they were hanging out there.

Fukuchiyama station

From Fukuchiyama, we had boarded the next train for Higashi-Maizuru departed on time. The train was named 'Rapid service'. But the train passed only one station before arriving at Higashi-Maizuru.
We changed trains at Higashi-Maizuru to head for the direction of Tsuruga. At Matsuonodera, we wondered why 2 Westerners got off at the station. To do research? To do job-hunting?
We can't decide to get off whether at Kato or at Seihama. But, since we noticed that the former is far from beach, we finally chose the latter.

It was narrow beach

After dipping our feet into sea, we got back to Seihama station to board the train for Mikata. The reason why we got the train off at Mikata is to soak in a hot spring.
Within 56 mins, we had to move to the hot spring, soak there , and go back to Mikata station. As a result, the mission was successful.

From Mikata, we just was back.

The sign says "We hope to realize construction of a rail line between Kaminaka and Omi-Imazu, which will shorten travel time to 54 mins to go to Kyoto."

At Tsuruga, we changed trains and the last event we had was eating dinner at Kyoto station.

We were separated at Osaka station, and we called it a day.
