Meitetsu(Nagoya Railway) announced installation of 9100 series and 9500 series trains with gangway connections on terminal cars for emergency.

Meitetsu(Nagoya Railway) announced installation of 9100 series and 9500 series trains with gangway connections on terminal cars for emergency. Totally 16 cars will be installed.

Meitetsu announced installation of 9100 series and 9500 series commuter trains with gangway connections on terminal cars to let passengers evacuate immediately in case of emergency. 9500 series trains have been operated since 2019. 9100 series trains have been operated since 2021 by reassembling 9500 series trains as the trainset with 2 cars. The total number of these cars are 80. surveillance cameras, which Meitetsu has never used, and multi-lingual displays for foreign tourists are installed on these trains.
By using gangway connections, evacuation will be easier, and passengers will be able to move between connected trainsets at any time.
Electricity consumption of the new train while running is to be reduced by 50% to contribute to environment.
