昨日、泉北高速鉄道は世界一運賃が高いというのは都市伝説だという話をしましたが、
それでは「世界一運賃が高い鉄道会社はどこでしょう」ということになります。
そこでググってみますと

どうやらイギリスの鉄道がヨーロッパで一番運賃が高いらしいです。

10ユーロ（約1354円）で27マイル（約43.45km）しか移動できないようで。
これだと東京〜新大阪間に相当する距離（営業距離552.6km）を移動するのに17221円掛かる計算です。
ちなみに東京〜新大阪を
在来線の普通列車で移動すると8510円
「新幹線のぞみ」指定席で移動すると14050円
「新幹線のぞみ」グリーン車で移動すると18690円
「寝台特急サンライズ」で移動すると20510円
掛かるので、いかに運賃が高いか分かります。
一方・・・

ヨーロッパで運賃が最も安いのはラトビアらしく、10ユーロ（約1354円）で383マイル（約616.4km）移動できるようです。
これだと東京〜新大阪間に相当する距離（営業距離552.6km）を移動するのに約1214円しか掛からない計算です。
ちなみにロンドン市内の移動に限れば、世界一運賃が高くなるらしく・・・

どうやらsingle fare（初乗り運賃のことかな）が世界で2番目に高い東京の2.5倍以上みたいです。
