Xi rode on high speed train to visit Hong Kong. Though I've heard that all of the high speed trains heading for Hong Kong West Kowloon have been suspended, charter train for him was prepared.
I guess officials may have thought that it would be safer, because most of the tracks on high speed rail in the city are underground.
