I think it's still meaningful that protests made its government postpone passing the bill. The result that demonstration changed political decision would motivate democratic activists around the world to rally against governments.
In Japan, some conservatives say "Left wings usually criticizing abuse of human rights in our country are now dumb about Hong Kong's extradition bill. I wonder if they are commanded by Beijing."
Surely, some of them must blame the bill. But, when it comes to pundits who are familiar with Chinese politics, and often visit the nation to get information, they can't criticize Chinese government apparently. That's because they will be prohibited from entering China, if its authority notices their criticism.
