Those who say "We can make ends meet as people did 42 years ago" know the facts?

Anti-nuclear activists say "We can live without nuclear power!". Some of them say "Why don't we go back to the living standard of 1970(42 years ago)!" (In 1970, there is no nuclear power plant in Japan)

Wait, wait, wait!
Compare GDP per capita of Japan in 2011(nominal) with that in 1970. The former is 7 times as large as the latter. So, simply speaking, they have to live within 1/7 of today's income.
Annual average income per family in Japan in 2011 is 6090000 JPY.
1/7 of that is 870000 JPY.
Then, monthly average income will be 72500 JPY. And, average house-rent in Japan is about 52000 JPY.
Then, each family has to live within 20500 JPY per month.
In other words, each family has to live within 683 JPY.

Judging from the fact that a cheapest humbarger costs 100 JPY, it is difficult for such a family to continue to live.
