Why is there gate for examinees?

The picture on the article shows a lady staff is showing the green gate for examinees(⁠考生緑色通道). It's interesting that subway station has a gate for specific group of younger passengers.
We often see gates for disabled passengers in subway stations around the world, which are enough wide as to let passengers on wheelchairs can pass through. But, I've never seen gate for examinees around the world, let alone in China.
