Officials in Hong Kong seem to be overwhelmed by pressure from Beijing. That must be why political liberty is gradually lost by trivial incidents like this.
Though Beijing promised the special status of the city until 2047, Political liberty will become the same as the extent of it in Mainland China until 2047.
