European Parliament approves motion on Hong Kong, as Beijing calls it full of ‘ignorance and prejudice’

This incident must have let Chinese government remember self-strengthening movement, which was the movement to try to install European technology in order to strengthen the country. But, it resulted in the end of Qing Dynasty.
People in Hong Kong are pursuiting democracy, which derives from Europe.
So, Chinese government may worry about repeating the same thing.
