In my laboratory, I just talked about a man who is suspected to be a transsexual man amid discussion of how to assign researchers to each room in a hotel used in our summer school.
Because it is nearly impossible for me to find a genuine gay and to ask him questions about safety issues, I don't know actual conditions of transsexuals.
During flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Osaka, though it has nothing to do with transsexuals, a passenger next to me said to me "Do not have sexual relations with girls in South East Asia. It will raise the possibility of infecting you with AIDS. They have no choice but to have sexual intercourse as a way to communicate with men."
I think that the it is discriminative statement.
Anyway, it won't be recommended to go to South East Asia to play with girls.
