Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced to allow Okinawa Monorail to run Transportation projects. The extended section is 4.1 km between Shuri and Uranishi,and is estimated to open in 2019. Uranishi, the terminal station, is near Nishihara Interchange to get access to intercity buses there.
After the opening, total distance will be 17.0km and travel time will be 38 mins.
