Few friends belonging my university sent me New Year's cards

※following data was totaled on February 4th.
Only 2 friends belonging my university sent me New Year's cards.
Additional 2 friends sent me e-mail congratulating new year.

On the other hand, 6 friends having belonged my high school sent me New Year's cards. In addition to it, 5 friends sent me e-mail congratulating new year.

This difference symbolizes the tendency that fewer and fewer Japanese send new year cards.
My opinion is that New Year's card is attracting because one can keep in touch with old friends whom one seldom meet in daily life.

In Japan, it has been said that more and more people are isolated from society. In such an environment, we should review the meaning of New Year's cards.
