Why don't we look at merger of 2 tram companies?

By merger of Toyama Chiho Railway and Toyama LRT, streetcars are operated as one company

Toyama Chiho Railway and Toyama LRT operating streetcars announced merger of the both companies.
Streetcars operated in southern side of Toyama Station is owned by the former one, while those operated in northern side of the station is owned by the latter one. They will be connected next March. By merger of the companies, efficiency of train operation and management of employees will be improved to minimize cost and to enhance services.

After the merger, the company will be founded as the successive company of Toyama Chiho Railway as the name remains. train timetable and fares after connection will be reviewed

Toyama Chiho Railway operates trains bound for Tateyama and Unazuki Onsen as well as streetcars in the city.
According to credit research company, the amount sold in March, 2018 is 6.6 billion Yen.

Toyama LRT is the 3rd sector invested by Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, and private companies. The portion is 33.1%, 16.1%, 50.8%, respectively.
It has been a operator of Toyama-ko Line which had been formerly operated by JR West before renovating as tram line.
Revenue of the company is about 30 million Yen.
