POLA, a manufacturer of cosmetic goods based in Shinagawa ward, Tokyo, calls controversy over TV CM whose title is "Our country seems a developing country for females.
Actress on the CM shows no smile. Unfair situation for her is the company is embodied by her action like being ordered to copy sheets of paper or putting away coffee cups of all the attendees at a meeting.

Though it's a provocative title, many people on the Internet sympathize with the title.
What's the purpose? We interviewed POLA.

It's broadcasted from July 21 to August 3.
It's also available on YouTube.
The movie was made as a promotion video at a conference in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. It's for job applicants, who want to be shop retailers .
But, when we consider that it's for recruiting, the contents are gloomy.
Performers include a woman standing in the crowd with uneasy face, a woman in front of a copy machine without smile, a woman putting away coffee cups of attendees of a conference without a word, a sitting pregnant on the desk who is tiredly patting her belly, and a crestfallen woman.
Behind them, calm narration says "Our country is a developing country for female workers. For example, Limited chance or overwhelming unfair. The conventional common sense is just rustic relationship. It's not freedom for me. Do not be puzzled, do not be embarrassed. We know what we need."

Though cosmetic manufacturers are supposed to provide gorgeous image CM,
it's outstanding.

An employee of POLA told me that he/she wasn't sure that the situation on the movie can exist, when he/she planned the movie.

70 or 80% of POLA employees are females, including female executives.
Female employees are so cheerful that male employees have to consider female employees.
Most of the shop retailers are females ,and then, they can't see the ones on the CM in their company.
Female executives wondered whether such females exists actually or not.

It seems that they don't understand how tiring working is. It means POLA has a good working environment.
