Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou is a member of Nationalist Party which aims at unification of Taiwan and China as Republic of China, while Democratic Progressive Party aims at independence from Chinese government. So, People's Republic of China, which wants to regard Taiwan as a part of China, recently supports Nationalist Party.
Even if we considered that, it would be surprising historic talk.
