It seems that sports events that must be held outside should not select Beijing as a venue. Though local government trys to remove air pollution by many ways, no drastic solution hasn't been found and hasn't been carried out. In my opinion, Chinese government needs to plan to relocate its capital to avoid concentration of people and industry in Beijing.
By the way, the writer of this article used the word 'National Meteorological Centre'. Judging from the expression, the writer prefers to use UK English.
Except for Hong Kong, whether Chinese people use UK English or US English seems to depend on individuals.
