Before reading this article, I thought Tai O would be remote from famous spots in Hong Kong.
But, the fact is that Tai O is a few kilometers from Ngong Ping, where big Buddhas are placed, and within 10 kilometers from Hong Kong International Airport.
So, More tourists can be expected to visit Tai O. Especially, it will be good for tourists who has to transit in a short time.
The village has no way to change its main industry from fishing to sightseeing. The problem is the way to boost tourism. To make use of stilt houses may be the better way than tearing down them.
