On JR Musashino Line, which connects Tokyo, Saitama, and Chiba as the circle line, Yoshikawa-Minami station was opened in Yoshikawa city, Saitama Prefecture. Though Musashino Line hadn't been an outstanding line for a long time, prominent development along the line can be found these days. Opening of the new station is one of the strategies of JR East to strengthen rail networks especially around Tokyo by improving conventional lines.
Early in the morning, a lot of people queued to buy commemoration tickets at the station. Mr.Hiroshi Ueno, an employee from Matsudo, Chiba, said "Every time I use Musashino Line, changing of the cities along the line surprises me. I'm looking forward to seeing the future."
Yoshikawa city and JR East spent 7.1 billion Yen constructing the new station on the previous rail yard for freight. The plan to set "New town" on the big land.

Unfortunately, there is Yoshikawa Minami, who is a Japanese female porn star. So, the station will be famous as a holy place for those who loves her.
In the first place, "Minami" was not named after local history. Literal meaning of "Minami" is "Beautiful and South". "Beautiful" was added without any theoretical background.
We shouldn't name something at random.
