LOS ANGELES (AFP) - A senior United States (US) judge has written to President Barack Obama apologising for a racist joke he sent in an e-mail, and has also initiated a judicial complaint procedure against himself.
Richard Cebull, chief US district judge in Montana, said earlier this week that he sent the e-mail to a small group of friends because he is opposed to Mr Obama. He acknowledged it was racist, but denied being racist himself.
After an uproar following his admission - made to a local newspaper which obtained a copy of the e-mail - Judge Cebull wrote personally to Obama on Thursday, according to the US Ninth Circuit court, of which Cebull is part.
'Dear Mr. President, I sincerely and profusely apologise to you and your family for the e-mail I forwarded. I accept full responsibility; I have no one to blame but myself,' he said in the letter, a copy of which was posted online.

Though it doesn't mean racism in general, there is discrimination which is similar to racism.
After the meltdown to Fukushima nuclear power plants, inhabitants in Fukushima Prefecture are often discriminated. For example, a kindergarten in Yamanashi Prefecture denied accepting kindergartners from Fukushima Prefecture. The reason is needless to be said.
As some racists say that black people are genetically inferior to white people, some people who are radically afraid of radioactive materials say "Those who have been exposed to radioactive environment are so radioactive that they should be away from us."
This way of thinking would arise from emotional motivation. So, it will be better for us not to speak when getting angry.
