Osaka City mayor, Hashimoto expressed his manifesto includes merger of Osaka City University and Osaka Prefecture University. It was when he was a governor of Osaka Prefecture. But, both of the Universities resisted the merger. Then, he reviewed the reduction of budget in Osaka Prefecture University. The budget reduction plan includes dismissal of employees.
