TEPCO announced that they will raise the price of electricity and added that they have right and obligation to do so. Most of Japanese media blame them for the measure and the statement.
But, those who are against construction or maintaining nuclear power plants are likely to stress the criticism.
When we consider shortage of electricity caused by suspension of running nuclear power plants, they have no way but to raise the price in order to lower electricity consumption. Probably, those people still seems to believe the efficiency of alternative energy.
Today or yesterday, one nuclear power plant which was the last running nuclear power plant in Kyusyu suspended operation. The other nuclear power plants in Japan will stop operation in the near future. In such a situation, how can we do without reducing electricity consumption?
