All of the JR stations in Gunma are 52 stations, which are begun to forbid smoking on the platforms. It is two years later than capital areas. Ash trays were covered with vinyl and will be removed by June 7th.
According to JR East, 159 stations including the stations in Gunma have been forbidden smoking since the day. We can't smoke in almost all the stations in Kanto. But, stations along Shinkansen, in which we ride for along time, remain smoking areas. So, smoking rooms will be newly constructed in both of Jomo Kogen station and Annaka Haruna station
