Why is the newest one seen as the best one?

Lion Air jet one of Boeing's newest, most-advanced planes
https://edition-m.cnn.com/2018/10/29/asia/boeing-737-max-8-lion-air-intl/index.html?r=https%3A%2F%2Fedition.cnn.com%2F

Though I don't know the cause of the accident that hit Lion air, we can say that the newest version are not always best one.
Even if trial products of the newest series passed inspection, initial products of the new series may cause unexpected problems.

So, if you buy something new, please make sure that it's not the newest version.

Why is there graffiti?

Catania offers students free travel
https://www.metro-report.com/news/news-by-region/europe/single-view/view/catania-offers-students-free-travel.html

Though it doesn't have anything to do with the article, the picture on the article shows the train whose exterior has graffiti.
In Italy, is it possible to allow such a train to run officially?
On the other hand, in Japan, graffiti on train will be taken up as news. And the train wouldn't be allowed to run until graffiti is erased.

Why don't you take A seat?

(Translation begins)
On October 24, JR West announced some seats on special rapid service will be replaced with A seat, a seat reservation system

The objective special rapid service is the trains on Hokuriku, Tokaido, and Sanyo Main Line nicknamed "Biwako, JR Kyoto, JR Kobe Line" respectively.
Car No.9 out of 12 cars will be replaced with an A seat car.
Interior design will be renovated to serve tranquil atmosphere. Seats will be changed with reclining chairs with tables. And, this is the first time for conventional lines on JR West that an electrical outlet will be furnished with every seat. Free Wi-Fi and luggage storage will also be available.
Reservation fee is 500 Yen. The car has 46 seats. When using, you shall purchase a reservation ticket from train conductor by cash or IC cards after sitting on vacant seat.

The car is manufactured by renovating current 2 rolling stocks of the 223 series train(1000s). 4 trains per day will be operated from the next spring/
JR West aims at developing areas along JR lines so as to let people want to visit and live there by living up to diverse demands from customers through adding comfort to special rapid service, the axis train in Kinki Area.
(Translation ends)

Since JR lines in Kinki Area has failed to attract passengers by offering reservation ticket systems on local trains, I'd like to expect A seat will be expanded to other trains.

Why can he insist that he is not racist?

edition.cnn.com

Whether or not he is a racist, there are words that mustn't be spoken as discriminating words.
Considering that anti-racism movement is happening to protect people from distress by discriminating words, his opinion that he is not a racist is not consistent with the purpose of the movement.
He must introspect his mind and think about what kind of activity would hurt people.

Why don't you see the world's tallest statue?

edition.cnn.com

Though tens of the countries are competing for building the world's tallest skyscrapers, it's rare to see movement to build the world's tallest statue.
I had thought that Gandhi would be the potential person whose statue is to be built. But, as a result, Vallabhbhai Patel was chosen as a hero which can be the tallest statue.
But, I'm concerned that the statue is a kind of idolatry which is avoided by muslim. Is there possibility to resist construction of the statue by muslim?

Why did Singapore install electric buses?

Singapore orders 60 electric buses
https://www.metro-report.com/news/news-by-region/asia-pacific-ex-china/single-view/view/singapore-orders-60-electric-buses.html

Compared with conventional buses running with crude oil, electric buses are not relatively energy efficient.
If you see how much crude oil is consumed per km, you will be able to understand it easily.
Especially in Singapore, where 95% of electricity is produced by natural gas, it's a crucial issue.

Why is it possible to build an international platform?

Eurostar to expand Amsterdam service next year
https://www.railwaygazette.com/news/high-speed/single-view/view/eurostar-to-expand-amsterdam-service-next-year.html

Judging from structures of the platforms in Amsterdam Central, it would be difficult to ensure a platform for trains running through UK. I wonder how Amsterdam Central station will be transformed.
In addition to the station, Rotterdam Central station will also have to be transformed.
