Russia must be regretful about having sold Alaska to United States.
Anyway, to decide if they carry out oil drilling should depend on the comparison with cost and environmental effect of exploiting new shell gas plant in US mainland.
If Alaska oil drilling project is much more feasible than exploiting new gas plant in US mainland, I think that the government should proceed the project.
Environmental groups should think about whether there will be no more oil drilling heavily affecting environment other than Alaska, if they can stop it.
