Why do they visit ruins?

I think that these photographers are a kind of "Haikyo-mania" in Japan. The phrase means "Ruin geek". They feel excited when seeing appropriate weirdness caused by mixture of human trace and growing nature.
When you visit ruins, you should pay attention to collapsing of the building and other safety. At least in Japan, there are many ruins where gangsters transact illegal drugs.
