I guess it must be difficult to go bar-hopping in South Africa, regardless of pandemic. That's because South Africa has one of the highest crime rate around the world.
In such a situation, it's dangerous to go out frequently. So, South Africa had already had the opportunity to let ghost restaurants flourish.
