On Kotohira Line, connecting Takamatsu and Kotohira, Fuseishi Station opened on November 28th.

Journalist said "Brandnew and urbanized platform. Here, train is approaching!"
Fuseishi Station in Ota-shimomachi opened as a new station between Sanjo and Ota 7 years after the final new station.

People around the station say
"I'll take my children to may parents' house by train"
"I've used bicycle. But, I want to use train on rainy days."

Railfan says
"I was looking forward to seeing the inauguration. I came all the way here to take pictures of the first train, because I was waiting for a long time."

14 people participated in the opening ceremony. Manabe CEO and Mayor Ohnishi were also included in them.
Fuseishi Station has been built to restructure bus routes along with rails based on a compact city plan by Takamatsu City since 2016. Total cost is 1.36 billion JPY, which is paid by National government, Prefectural government, and the city.
Expressbus and local bus are scheduled to drop in at the square in front of the station, and then approx. 1600 passengers are estimated.

Manabe CEO said "Southern part of Takamatsu is the area recording population growth. The station is not only convenient for them, but also can be a transportation hub as to allow people to move in wider area by combining bus service since bus station will open next year."

Another new station is also planned between Ota and Busshozan on the line.

The area around the station is typical suburb of medium sized cities in Japan. I wish more people would use the train.
