Why it's time to redesign the old air conditioner

A couples of years ago, air conditioner became social issue, because it used to be main cause of destroying ozone layer by freon gas. But, after introduction of alternative substance, mankind could stop destroying ozone layer.
So, I guess similar framework will be effective for prevention of global warming to an extent.
