Scientists have discovered a 'monster' black hole that's so big it shouldn't exist

What I was surprised at is not the discovery itself. The way scientists discovered. Instead of detecting X rays from stars, they tried to find a new black hole by visible satellite stars on orbital of the objective one.
That way can contribute to cosmology
