Why don't you board cheaper sleeper coach?

JR West unveiled concepts of its new overnight train

JR West will operate overnight express 'West Express Galaxy' between Kyoto, Osaka and Izumoshi. The train is renovated from 117 series train. First Class Seats(Green Seats), First Class Rooms(Green Rooms), flat seats(Nobinobi seats) whose reservation is available just with conventional Limited Express Tickets are embedded.
It will begin commercial operation from May 8, 2020. Until September, it will be operated as the overnight train between Kyoto and Izumoshi.
Outbound train departs from Kyoto around 9 pm and arrives at Izumoshi around 9 am.
Inbound train departs from Izumoshi around 4 pm and arrives at Osaka around 6 am.
Both of the trains run via Hakubi Line, while each train stops at different stations.
From October to March, it will be operated as Limited Express on Daytime.
Both of the overnight train and the daytime train will be twice a week.
Rolling Stock is renovated 117 series train consisting of 6 cars. In addition to the aforementioned seats ordinary seats will also be embedded. Fare between Kyoto and Izumoshi 10640 JPY for reserved seats and 18560 JPY for 1st class rooms.
At the stations where trains stop for longer time, retailing of local products and performance of traditional musicals will be taken place. And, there also be a chance for local residents to board the train and have conversation with passengers.
