Jiayi Station(for Alishan Forest Railway)
As soon as I arrived at Jiayi, a woman invited me to a shop near the station. Though I told her "I'd like to leave baggage at the station.", shae said "If you want to leave bigger one, please come to our shop".
Then, I left baggage there and she asked me to do something. But, I couldn't hear what she was saying in Chinese. So, she gave up requesting it and charged me 50NT$.
After that, we went to Peimen Station by taxi. The first purpose to get there was to see trains preserved near the station. But, it was not the only entertainment. There is a tourist attraction embodying traditional houses in Japan's colonization era.

Near Peimen Station
At first, we went to the depot of Alishan Forest Railway. By accident, a couple of elderly persons talked to my wife. After they noticed that we are from Japan, they began to speak Japanese fluently. Then, I asked them "Are you from Japan?"
They said "We are Taiwanese born in the era of Japan's colonization. We are a tourist group of doctors in Central and Southern part of Taiwan". He talked a lot about his occupation and his history. Finally, he told me "I don't want to talk about politics in Japan. But, I want to say that it's not good to rely heavily on US or to rely heavily on China. It would be better to keep good balance between them. You had better visit Mainland China."
As you see in this website, I've been to Mainland China several times.

And then, we walked to Hinoki Village, which I mentioned above as traditional houses.
We found souvenir shop named "Fuyixuan" selling rice cracker, and bought 喀醬蘇打餅(Ka Jiang Su Da Bing).

When we tried to use Easy Card at the station to change trains, a problem happened. My Easy Card was barred from entry at the gate. To tell you the truth, on the platform of Jiayi Station, we noticed that we forgot picking up baggage, and exited the station. Then, my easy card didn't react the sensor at the gate. We returned to the platform with other tickets and got to Kaohsiung Station. So, I asked the station staff to erase entry record. But, he couldn't understand the situation, and finally erased the record without understanding the background.
Anyway, we changed trains get to Minzu Station, which is the nearest station to today's hotel.
