Unlike abolishment of overnight trains in Japan, which I wrote here yesterday, duration of 11 hours between Shanghai and Kunming will be worth operating overnight trains. (I don't know if overnight trains are operated between them)
In the high speed train period, overnight trains can survive only in continents.
