I didn't know the light rail line is going to begin express service. I think this line will be the only tram line that has express service.
Though mortalization and traffic jam are social issues in Kita-Kanto area including Utsunomiya, there has been protesters against construction of Utsunomiya light rail.
Whether or not Utsunomiya light rail succeed will affect light rail projects around Japan.
