Nowadays, the word "活" is often used for various kinds of activities. I would like to take up some examples below.
友活=activity to make friends
(友=friends, 活=activity )
婚活=activity to marry
(婚=marriage, 活=activity)
妊活=activity to bear child
(妊=pregnancy, 活=activity)
And lately, I often see the word "終活" that means activity to get ready for funeral.
(終=the end, 活=activity)
The former 3 examples are about activities for ourselves, while the last one is for nothing.
So, activities are bigger than whole life.
