According to Chinese media, China considers to construct a railway to Canada and United States via
Bering Strait. This information drew more attentiion in China and overseas. But, some people suspect its possibility.
Recently, a member of Construction Ministry in China, Mr.Wang met a journalist of Jing Hua Times, This railway will start from North-Eastern part of China, and go north to Bering Strait via Siberia. By constructing a tunnel underpassing Pacific Ocean, it reaches Alaska. From Alaska, it finally reaches United States via Canada.
Mr.Wang said it's totaling 13000 km. If it were to be constructed, we don't have to take airplane to get to the United States from China. By boarding the high speed trains, we can see landscapes along the line. 350km/h train will take you to the United States fro 2 days.
This information drew attention. Each Chinese media took up this as "High Speed Train will take you to the United States for 2 days."
International media said "It doesn't have actual meaning"and, asked one question.

Theoretically, the high speed train can reach the United States in 38 hours, if it runs without stopping at intermediate stations. But,when we take it into account that there will be time for 4 immigration checks and stopping at intermediate stations, the travel time will be prolonged to 50 hours.
