Criticizing royal families are usually considered to be taboo.
But, I've seen an elerly man in the UK said "Prince must get away from this country!" on TV. As far as I know, the statements of the elerly man aren't considered to be taboo.
It seems to be dependent on each country whether criticism to royal families is taboo or not.
