It would be a good idea to update only important information.
But, I think it should be a option. I want Facebook to allow users to choose viewing full posts or viewing selected posts.
For users who have few friends and visit their Facebook pages frequently, the former would be better, while the latter would be better for users who have many friends and seldom visit their Facebook pages.
