On August 4, prime minister Abe inspected the disaster area damaged by record heavy rain in Shimane and Yamaguchi. He said "I told ministers to work firmly for designation of the disaster area."
That means he revealed he is ready to designate the area to severe disaster area, which can get plenty of financial aid from government in the questions of interviewers.
He looked over JR Yamaguchi Line, whose train operation is suspended because of landslide or railroad bridges flown by rivers. After that, he met the governor of Yamaguchi Prefecture, Shigetarou Yamamoto, at prefectural office.
Abe explained "I told involved ministers to take measures including designation of severe disaster area, earlier payment of ordinary tax allocation, application of the law of supporting restarting lives for victims."
