But, after World War 2, more females can select their partners proportional to the rising tide of feminism.
It allowed both females and males enormous choices, and the balance of supply and demand was kept in economic growth of Japan.
These days, deceleration of Japan's economy produced large amounts of unemployed people and low income groups. It broke equilibrium of supply and demand.
More and more females remain unmarried because they rush to rich men. At the same time, low income workers also remain unmarried because extremely few females admit to marry them.
