The train floored with tatami mats with table for studying, what is called "Study train" began to run between Aniai and Takanosu.
The train runs during the mid-term exam of Akita Hokuyou High School.
The train serves the place for students to study.
Limited operation of the train was requested by the high school and the students' committee.
Since begining of the operation in last November, this is the 3rd time of the operation.About 200 students take the train ,and then train occupancy amounted nearly 100% during rush-hour , which prevented them from opening their textbooks in the train.
The "study train" departed from Aniai at 6:41 became full of passengers on all the seats of the train. A passenger from Aniai, Hokui Imai said "I hope operation of the train will continue."

When I was a junior high school student, I used to write something on my notebook with standing in train. So, we can study anywhere if only there are something to study.
