Travel on May 4, 2012

I took Kintetsu Lines to Kyoto. At Kyoto, I rode "Hikari" for Gifu-Hashima. Though today is in successive holidays, I was able to get a seat even on a non-reserved car. And, two seats next to me were also vacant.

I got off at Gifu-Hashima. I changed trains for Meitetsu Line. I took Meitetsu train for Kasamatsu. In the train, I searched Google for the fastest way to get to Mino-Ohta. Then, I found I had to take limited express train "Hida" to get there by 11:35, when a train of Nagaragawa Railway departs at Mino-Ohta.

Until then, I intended to get to Shin-Unuma by Meitetsu Lines ,and to change trains for JR there. But, in this case, I can't take limited express "Hida".
Anyway, I headed for Meitetsu Gifu. At Meitetsu Gifu, I got refund because I had paid fare between Gifu-Hashima and Shin-Unuma.

I ran toward Gifu station. I purchased a ticket for Mino-Ohta with limited express ticket. The limited express ticket costs me only 310 JPY.
I rode limited express "Hida" for Mino-Ohta. 20 mins later, I reached Mino-Ohta.
I took the train of Nagaragawa Railway, which consists of two diesel cars. I couldn't get a seat, because the train was crowded with tourists.

A tour guide was also on the train. The most impressive thing of what he said is "Triple tunnels".
One of them is that of Nagaragawa Railway, another of them is that of National Route 156, the other of them is that of Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway. According to him, it is rare.

The train reached Gujo-Hachiman, where I had gone 4 months ago. And the tour guide got off at the station.
I continued to take the train ,and got off at the terminus, Hokunou.
The railway line was planned to extend from Hokunou to Kuzuryu-ko, which is the terminus of Echimi-Hokusen Line of JR West. But, the plan was cancelled.

The train I took

At the restaurant of the station, I ate "Ayu-Gohan", which is rice mixed with sweet fish.
I returned by taking the same train to Minami-Kodakara-Onsen.
Kodakara means "Rich in "A man's riches".
Everyone who gets off at the station during business hours of Kodakara-Onsen can get certification sheet, by which passengers can take hot springs of Kodakara-Onsen for 50 JPY.
I took the hot springs.

After that, I took a train for Mino-Ohta, and went to a hotel near Unuma.
