Since storm warning in all parts of Nara was announced, I didn't get out of my house until the typhoon has passed through Kansai.
Around 15:00, I heard voice saying "The typhoon hit Hamamatsu city" from TV. Then, I left my house for university.
As I expected, my professor was absent from university and my colleague, who is famous as a hardworking man, was present. He asked me "why do you come to university now?"
I: Of course, it's because storm warning was announced.
He: If we have a class, it'll be the reason. But, now that we are members of this laboratory, it can't be the reason.
I: No! Do you know how dangerous it would be to go to school as this weather?
He: When we consider that employees in many companies commute to their companies even on condition of storm warning.
I didn't reply to him to avoid quarreling with him.
If we can ignore storm warning, what's the meaning of storm warning?
Rather than that, I guess the thought "What many people do is what we have to do" shouldn't be the absolute reason. It is out of logical thinking. I hope he can think about things all the more logically for that he is a scientist.
