I didn't know that United States had a military base in Gifu

Because of the accident in nuclear power station or because the day will come when Japan made an unconditional surrender in WW2, TV media broadcasts many things related to nuclear weapons.
Today, I knew Unites States had taken place the training of dealing with nuclear weapons in Gifu Base. Some of US troops gave evidence they were exposed to radiation. Not only to Japan but also to Korea, US troops transferred nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons were stored in Gunsan Base, Korea. A soldier involved don't know where the bomb in Gunsan was to throw down, but he suspected US would be likely to aim at Russia. Especially, Vladivostok.
I was surprised at how tensed it was between Western Bloc and Eastern Bloc in Cold War.
