It's interesting that new metro line extension can be used for beach access. In the past, Pacific Electric in Los Angeles used to promote passengers to go to beach by train. On the other hand, many private railways in Japan also advertised beach along the lines, and operated many extra trains named after beach.
Even after demolition of Pacific Electric, it's possible to go to beach by Los Angeles Metro Rail. And also, in many cases, It's still possible to go to beach by private railways. But, none of them boasts beach access by train. There are few people going to beach by train in the US and Japan.
