The fight against Alzheimer's: Where are we now?

My grandmother has heavy Alzheimer symptom. She doesn't know where she lives now, who I am, the fact that her husband passed away.
Though she is prescribed medicine to delay or relieve her symptom, her memory is gradually lost. I hope these researchers can invent the medicine or surgery to completely stop symptom of dimentia.
