In population-growing cities, it would be reasonable to build higher buildings.
But, in areas where population is decreasing or keeping the same level, lower and wider buildings are favored. For example, ordinary shopping malls in rural areas consist of 3 or 4 stories with huge parking lots. It shows how troublesome for people to go up or down, while shopping.
So, I am looking forward to seeing research on buildings in rural areas.
