It seems that Trump looks down on rail transport. After the dramatic cuts, more and more long distance trains will be decreased or abolished, much less high speed rail projects will be suspended. It means technology of high speed rail will be behind the world's standard level as well as opening of it will be delayed.
Since the United States became the country selling the biggest amount of crude oil owing to shale gas, they have not been willing to get out from oil-dependent society.
But, in a long run, they have to think about how to shift from oil-dependent motorization to oil-free rail systems.
