He had no choice but to stay in Russia in order to escape from CIA.
But, I think it's better way for him to be an IT technician in Russia. If his face were to be remembered by neighborhood, it will be a clue to find out his trail.
He had better make up living by working without showing his face in public, though the advice can be scolded by CIA.
