My English teacher have said that United States once experienced abrupt increase of jobless people. This was caused by cheaper and more functional cars imported from Japan. Until then, American workers at vehicle factories had spent rich lives.
Since then, American manufacturers have been suffering from competition with foreign manufacturers.
When we compare the phenomenon with that in those days, we can't say American economy recovered the historical standard level.
